A study – just accepted for publication by FASEB J – by investigators from Universities of Perugia, Federico II, Napoli and Salerno (Italy) reports that modulation of bile acid metabolism and selective activation of FXR and GPBAR1 (TGR5) is a novel mechanism of action that support beneficial effects of statins in NASH.
